For those who don’t know, here’s a little history of the car and the brand.
The models were the brainchild of Brazilian Percival Lafer, and the MP Lafer was a fairly faithful replica of the classic English MG TD, but with VW Beetle mechanics and chassis, making it a lot of fun to drive.
The first models, produced in 1974, used the VW 1500 cc engine, which was replaced by the VW 1600 cc about six months later.
In almost 17 years, around 4,300 cars were built, more than a thousand of which were exported to more than three dozen countries
